Escape Corporate Grind by Taking Ownership of Your Career
Is your career stuck in a rut? Is the daily grind of climbing the corporate ladder making you feel bruised, battered, and defeated?
At some point, you wake up and realize the corporate ladder is really more like a treadmill. You run faster, work harder and fight through the daily monotony and fatigue. But, as the months go by, your efforts go unnoticed and unrewarded. Climbing the corporate ladder has not helped you achieve career success or made you happier than your first day on the job. And many days, it feels like you’re simply running in circles.
The salary of the average American worker has remained largely stagnant in recent years, according to the Brookings Institute, a nonprofit public policy organization. Any wage gains are primarily due to increases in the minimum wage or salary increases for the highest-paid workers, leaving many corporate Americans defeated.
“Climbing the corporate ladder is a pipe dream. Put an end to Battered Career Syndrome® and find a career that brings you joy and wealth,” said Terry Powell, Visionary Founder of The Entrepreneur’s Source®, the nation’s leading career ownership franchise. “For more than 35 years, The Entrepreneur’s Source® has provided tens of thousands of people with the answers and the opportunities they need to improve their lives. Change the tone of 2021 and turn it into a year you remember for taking the first steps to self-sufficiency and discovering a point of clarity about your future.”
As more Americans cope with layoffs, job furloughs and the challenges of working at an unfulfilling career, 2020-2021 are years many will not soon forget. The outbreak of COVID-19 tanked the stock market and sent the nation’s unemployment numbers through the roof. More than 16.3 million Americans are unemployed, and others watch in dismay as their retirement nest eggs shrink.
According to The Urban Institute, the pandemic has led to a rapid decline in jobs for older Americans. Unemployment soared for workers ages 55 to 64, 12.5 percent of whom were out of work in April 2020, leaving them about as likely to be unemployed as workers ages 25 to 54. These numbers are especially troubling for older Americans as it typically takes them longer to find a new job at a time when saving for retirement is top-of-mind.
